At the StumpRanch we are not only about Japanese Chin;
we also raise Limousines, Arabians, and a couple of miniature wirehair dachshunds.
The StumpRanch encompasses 880 acres or 352 hectars of largely prime Canadian forest, interspersed with open fields. We are bordered on 2 sides by CrownLand and our wild animal population includes anything from moose, elk and deer to black bear, wolf, and cougar.
We consider ourselves to be one of the last, dwindling bastions of wilderness in such close proximity to encroaching civilization.
We are located in North-Central Alberta, almost equidistant between Edmonton and Jasper, at the edge of a Green Zone, not quite yet in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
To our overseas visitors we can offer a cabin in the woods with a typically rustic Canadian flavour, for those who like the adventure of ‘roughing it’, or we can offer ‘bed and breakfast’ in our home, for short-term accommodations.
For those who are planning to spend a vacation in somewhat greater comfort there is also the availability of log cabins with bed/breakfast/bale appr. 30 minutes from our Ranch.
